On November the 26th
The supersonic passenger jet, Concorde, made its last ever flight (non commercial) over Bristol, UK. The last commercial flight of the Concorde had been in October of the same year.
Tony Blair became the first Prime Minister of the United Kingdom to address the parliament of the Republic of Ireland.
In London's Heathrow Airport, 6,800 bars of gold were stolen from the Brinks Mat vault. At an approximate worth of 26 million pounds. Although the robbers were captured and tried, most of the gold was never recovered.
British rock band, Cream, performed their last concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Italian actress and politician, Cicciolina, was born in Budapest. She was elected to the Italian parliament in 1987, the first ever performer of hardcore pornography to do so.
American filmaker, Bruce Paltrow, was born in New York. He was a successful producer and director in holywood and the father of the holywood star, Gwyneth Paltrow.
American singer, Tina Turner, was born in Tennessee. She bacame famous along with her husband with the 'The Ike and Tina Turner Revue' during the 1960s and 1970s. She made a solo comeback during the 1980's which catapulted her to international fame.
The movie, Toll of the Sea, premiered on American cinema's it was the first major movie release to use Technicolor.
The first college fraternity, the Kappa Alpha Society, was formed at Union College in Schenectady, New York.
