This year in history
In the year 1811

	May 14th	Paraguay gained its independence from Spain.
	June 21st	Italian physicist, Carlo Matteucci, was born in Forli. He was an Italian physicist and neurophysiologist who was a pioneer in the study of bioelectricity.
	July 5th	Venezuela declared its independence from the rule of Spain.
	October 27th	American, Isaac Singer, was born in New York. He was an inventor and entrepreneur who made significant improvements to the sewing machines of the time. He also founded the Singer Sewing Machine Company, a name sinonymous with sewing machines to this day.
