	March 13th	Harvard College was named after clergyman and benefactor, John Harvard.
	August 22nd	The city of Madras, India, was founded by the British East India Company. The city was renamed Chennai in August, 1996.
	December 22nd	French dramatist, Jean Racine, was born in Aisne.
