In the year 1807

	January 11th	American businessman, Ezra Cornell, was born in New York,. He was a business associate of Samuel Morse and made his fortune in the telegraph business. He was the founder of Cornell University.
	January 19th	American general, Robert E. Lee, was born in Lexington, Virginia. He was the most successful general of the Confederate forces during the American Civil War.
	June 19th	A fleet of Russian vessels under the command of admiral Dmitry Senyavin, destroyed the Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Athos.
	June 26th	More than 200 people were killed when lightning struck a warehouse in Luxembourg.
	July 4th	Italian, Giuseppe Garibaldi, was born in the city of Nizza. He is considered as the most influential figure of the struggle to unify Italy into a single republic.
	September 2nd	The British Royal Navy bombarded the city of Copenhagen in an effort to prevent Denmark from surrendering its naval fleet to Napoleon.
