The German zeppelin, Hindenburg, caught fire and was destroyed while it was docking with the dock at Lakehurst, New Jersey. The Zeppelin originally was designed to be filled helium, but due to an embargo on helium it was filled with the highly flammable gas, hydrogen. 36 died in the accident. |

Italian actor, Rudolph Valentino, was born in Apulia, Italy. He was probably the first male sex symbol actor. He died at the age of 31, after he had undergone surgery for ulcer. |
